    Dear @JE28-DM,

Thank you for reaching out to the Microsoft Q&A forum. I’m happy to assist you.

As @Niraj Patel mentioned, this issue may be related to a server or internet connection problem, or possibly a corrupted Outlook profile. To begin, please try signing in through Outlook on the web to check whether the problem occurs there as well.

If the issue also occurs on Outlook Web

This suggests your network connection may be the cause. In that case, please try the following:

Switch to a different network (for example, from Wi‑Fi to mobile hotspot).

    Turn off any VPN:

    1. Windows Settings > Network & Internet > VPN > Disable any active VPN
    2. Also toggle off “Allow VPN over metered networks.”

Temporarily disable your firewall and Windows Security to test the sign‑in.

    1. Visit this link for more details: Firewall and Network Protection in the Windows Security App - Microsoft Support
    2. Please remember to enable both again immediately after testing.

Disclaimer: Turning off Windows Firewall/Defender reduces device protection, so only do this briefly for troubleshooting.

    If Outlook Web works normally

Then the issue is likely related to Outlook on your computer. Please try the following steps:

    Enable TLS 1.2

    1. Type Internet Options in the Windows search bar and open it.
    2. Go to the Advanced tab.
    3. Scroll down and make sure “Use TLS 1.2” is checked.
    4. Click Apply > OK, then restart your computer. User's image

    Clear Outlook credentials

    1. Search for Credential Manager and open it.
    2. Go to Windows Credentials.
    3. Under Windows Credentials and Generic Credentials, delete any entries related to Outlook, Office, or Microsoft Accounts. User's image
    4. Restart the device and sign-in again.
