To delete files and photos, you can follow these general steps depending on the platform you are using:

    1. Using File Explorer (Windows):
      • Open File Explorer and navigate to the folder where your files or photos are stored.
      • Select the files or photos you want to delete. You can hold down the Ctrl key to select multiple files.
      • Right-click on the selected files and choose Delete from the context menu, or simply press the Delete key on your keyboard.
    2. Using Photos App (Windows):
      • Open the Photos app and browse through your images.
      • Select the photos you want to delete.
      • Click on the Delete icon or press the Delete key.
    3. Using Storage Sense (Windows):
      • You can configure Storage Sense to automatically delete temporary files and items in the recycle bin. Go to Settings > System > Storage and enable Storage Sense.
    4. Using Mobile Devices (iOS):
      • Open the Photos app, select the photos you want to delete, and tap the Trash icon.
      • For files, use the Files app, navigate to the file, and swipe left on the file to reveal the delete option.
    5. Using Cloud Services:
      • If your files are stored in a cloud service (like OneDrive), log in to the service, select the files you want to delete, and choose the delete option.

By following these steps, you should be able to free up space without needing to upgrade your storage.

Hello Shirley Matz, thanks for posting this in the community. May I know which application you’re trying to delete files from? Is it OneDrive web app, Windows, Mac, iOS, etc.?

To identify large or unnecessary files, if you’re using Windows, open Settings > System > Storage, then select Temporary files to remove items like cache, old updates, and recycle bin contents. You can also enable Storage Sense to automate cleanup.

If you’re on macOS, go to Apple Menu > About This Mac > Storage > Manage, then review Documents, Downloads, and Trash for large files.

    Kind regards,

    John Oli
