I bought a new laptop and am trying to set it up with my Microsoft account. But, I do not remember my password I used to set it up. I also do not have the email address or phone number associated with my account when I set it up. I changed the phone number in my account to my current one, but it says it will take 30 days before it will allow the change. Is there anything I can do in the meantime to set up my Microsoft account on my new laptop or do I have to wait the 30 days?

Hi DON Gonzales, I know this is frustrating waiting 30 days when you just want to set up your new laptop feels like a huge roadblock.
Try any old recovery options first like an email or phone linked to your account. If you’ve used a trusted device before, reset from there. If you set up Authenticator or security questions use those. If nothing works create a temporary local account on your new laptop and switch back after the 30days hold. As a last resort contact Microsoft Support with proof like old device info or purchase receipts.
Do you still have access to any device where you were previously signed in with this Microsoft account?

Unfortunately, without the original email or phone number, it may be challenging to regain access immediately.
