How do you reset your password that was forgotten?

I bought a new laptop and am trying to set it up with my Microsoft account. But, I do not remember my password I used to set it up. I also do not have the email address or phone number associated with my account when I set it up. I changed the phone number in my account to my current one, but it says it will take 30 days before it will allow the change. Is there anything I can do in the meantime to set up my Microsoft account on my new laptop or do I have to wait the 30 days?
