    Hi,

Thank you for reaching out and I understand how frustrating it can feel when you purchase Microsoft Office and the product key refuses to activate despite doing everything right. This usually happens when the system is unable to properly validate the key or when the Office installation isn’t syncing correctly with Microsoft's activation servers but we can walk through another set of steps to help get everything activated smoothly.

A helpful approach is to start by signing in with the same Microsoft account that was used during the purchase because many Office licenses now attach directly to the account rather than the key itself; once signed in you can go to your Microsoft Account portal at https://account.microsoft.com/services and check if the Office subscription or one‑time purchase is already listed then reinstall Office from that page to refresh the license connection. You can also try activating Office by switching networks such as connecting through mobile hotspot or a different Wi‑Fi, to rule out any network‑based activation block.

If activation still doesn’t go through it often helps to fully sign out of all Office apps, close them completely, sign back in and let Office automatically detect any licenses tied to your account which can trigger a successful activation without needing to manually enter the key again. If none of these steps resolve the issue the last helpful option is to confirm the key’s status using Microsoft’s official support channels because they can validate whether the key is genuine, unused or incorrectly assigned.

Would you like to tell me what type of Office product you purchased or whether it shows up in your Microsoft account?

I hope this answer is helpful if you have further questions feel free to reply back

    Regards,

    Marcelo

If you are unable to activate your Microsoft Office key, here are some steps you can take to troubleshoot the issue:

    1. Check the Key: Ensure that you are entering the product key correctly, including any dashes.
    2. Verify the Key Type: Make sure that the key you have is compatible with the version of Office you are trying to activate. For example, a key for Office 2019 will not work for Office 365.
    3. Remove Existing Keys: If there are any previously entered keys, you may need to remove them. You can do this by running the following command in PowerShell:
cscript ospp.vbs /unpkey:<Last five characters of product key>

    4. Repair Office: Sometimes, repairing the Office installation can resolve activation issues. You can do this by going to Control Panel > Programs > Programs and Features, selecting your Office product, and then choosing the Repair option.
    5. Check Licensing Information: Open an Office application, go to File > Account, and check if the product is showing as licensed. If not, you may need to restart the application or your computer.
    6. Contact Support: If none of the above steps work, consider reaching out to Microsoft Support for further assistance.

These steps should help you resolve the activation issue with your Microsoft Office key.
