Hi @Steven C,
Welcome to Microsoft Q&A forum.
I am sorry to hear that you have experienced data loss while using the Sticky Notes widget on Microsoft Launcher. I understand how frustrating it is to lose important information. Because your notes sync with your Microsoft account via Outlook. Please check these locations immediately:
- Outlook Web: Log in to Outlook.com and check the Notes folder and the Deleted Items folder.
- OneNote Web: Visit onenote.com/stickynotes to see if a previous version of the note is cached there.
Please Note: While these steps are the most effective way to retrieve synced data, we cannot guarantee that your information will be recoverable. If the sync error occurred while the text was being cleared, the empty state may have overwritten the previous data on the server.
This issue often occurs due to sync conflicts or aggressive background battery management on Android. To stabilize the app, please follow these steps:
- Disable Battery Optimization: Go to Settings > Apps > Microsoft Launcher > Battery and select "Unrestricted." This prevents the Launcher from refreshing and clearing your text buffer while you type.
- Use the Full App for Long Notes: For sensitive or lengthy information, tap the note to open the full Sticky Notes interface rather than typing directly into the home screen widget.
- Manual Sync: After finishing a note, swipe down on the notes list to force a cloud sync.
We value your patience as we work to resolve this. Please let me know if you are able to retrieve your data using the steps above.
I'm looking forward to your response.
