Hi. I have a subscription to 365 and need to load the apps on to my new MacBook. I logged on and saw how to add a device. However, when I put in my serial number, it wouldn't take. The option for devices did not include Apple. Any help is appreciated.

Hello Connie Bosse, thanks for posting this in the community.

Microsoft 365 subscriptions do not use device serial numbers for installation or activation. The “Add a device” option you saw is for managing Microsoft account devices such as Windows PCs or Xbox, not for installing Office apps on macOS.

To install Microsoft 365 on your MacBook, sign in to your Microsoft account at the Microsoft 365 portal using the account linked to your subscription. Once signed in, click Install apps at the top-right corner and select Microsoft 365 apps for Mac. This will download the .pkg installer file.

Open the downloaded .pkg file and follow the on-screen instructions to complete the installation. After installation, launch any Office app like Word and sign in with your Microsoft 365 account to activate.

    Kind regards,

    John Oli
