Microsoft won't accept my postcode for payment option? HELP! URGENT!

HELP!

Both my 365 subscription and the payment card I use for the account are about to expire and I am unable to update either - I have been trying for weeks and have been able to find any help from support.

When I try to update my payment card or add a new one, it refuses to accept the postcode formatting for Bermuda - even though this is the one Microsoft has on file and I have used it for years. The format for my address is HM JX.

There is no direct email or number to call - the 1-800 number for Bermuda just sends me to the same useless Payment Option support page. I urgently need to speak to a human being - can anyone help, PLEASE?

Hello Chris Gibbons, thanks for posting this in the community.

First, check your region settings by signing in to your Microsoft Account and going to Your Info under Edit Profile. Make sure your Country/Region is set to Bermuda. If it’s incorrect, update it because this affects billing validation.

Next, update your billing address by signing in at account.microsoft.com and navigating to Payment & Billing, then Address Book. Add a new address and for the postal code, if HM JX fails, try entering it without spaces as HMJX or use a placeholder like HM01, which Microsoft sometimes accepts. Keep the rest of the address accurate.

After that, add your payment method again under Payment & Billing in Payment Options. If the system still rejects the postcode, try HM01 or HM BX, which are common workarounds for Bermuda in Microsoft systems. Make sure the card’s billing address matches what you enter.

You can also try using the Microsoft Store app on Windows. Go to Profile and then Payment Methods, as the app sometimes allows more flexible input than the web portal.

If none of these work, contact Microsoft Support directly. Visit Microsoft Support Contact with this link https://support.microsoft.com/home/contact? Click “GET HELP”, select Billing & Subscriptions, then Microsoft 365, and choose Payment & Billing. From there, you can start a chat or request a callback.

    Kind regards,

    John Oli
