I need to cancel my Microsoft subscription. However, the help section is asking where did I bought the Microsoft subscription and I really do not know. I family member (That is not around right now) helped me to purchase the subscription. Therefore, I just need to turn off the recurring billing so the susbcrition would not be renewed.

Hi, I'm John! I will help you with this.

To help narrow down the issue:

    1. Which Microsoft account are you currently signed into when you visit https://account.microsoft.com/services (Do you see any Microsoft 365 subscription listed there?)
    2. Have you noticed any recent charge on your bank or card statement? If yes, does it show Microsoft, MSFT, or an app store like Google Play / Apple?
    3. Do you remember whether the subscription was set up using your email address, or possibly the family member’s Microsoft account instead?

Click "Add comment" to let me know.

    Regards,

    John J.D.

Find your subscription at https://account.microsoft.com/services. You should be able to turn off recurring billing and then cancel. See also https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/office/cancel-a-microsoft-365-subscription-46e2634c-c64b-4c65-94b9-2cc9c960e91b .

To turn off recurring billing for your Microsoft subscription, you can follow these steps:

    1. Go to the Microsoft 365 admin center.
      • If you’re using the Simplified view, select Billing.
      • If you’re using the Dashboard view, go to Billing > Your products.
    2. Select the subscription that you want to manage.
    3. On the subscription details page, select Edit recurring billing.
    4. In the Edit recurring billing pane, select Off, then select Save.

This will prevent your subscription from renewing at the end of its term, but you will still have access to your products and services until the subscription expires.

If you need further assistance or if you cannot access the admin center, consider reaching out to someone who can help you with the account details or contact Microsoft support for guidance.
