I'm also a senior. You have to forgive the young people - they don't understand things as well as we do.

Keyboard lights come from whoever made the keyboard. If there's any software involved, the manufacturer has to provide that software to Microsoft, because Microsoft can't do this by themselves.

What I'm saying is that you should ask whichever company made the keyboard for help. They'll take care of you.

    Hi,

To help you out, could you let me know if you’re using a laptop or a desktop PC? If it’s a laptop, please share the brand and model. Some keyboards and laptops don’t have built-in backlight features, so this detail will help me give you the right steps.

Once I have that info, I’ll guide you through the best options to resolve this.

Feel free to reply anytime I’m here to help!

To light the keyboard on your device, you typically need to use the function keys or specific software provided by your device manufacturer. Here are some general steps:

    1. Check for a Keyboard Light Key: Many keyboards have a dedicated key to control the backlight. This is often represented by a keyboard icon with light rays. You might need to press the Fn key along with this key to turn the light on or off.
    2. Use Device Settings: On Windows 11, you can also adjust keyboard backlighting through the Settings app. Go to Settings > Devices > Typing and look for options related to keyboard backlighting.
    3. Manufacturer Software: If your keyboard is part of a specific brand (like Logitech, Razer, etc.), they often provide their own software (like Logitech G HUB or Razer Synapse) that allows you to customize the keyboard lighting.

If your keyboard does not have a backlight feature, it may not be possible to light it up.

For seniors or users who may need additional assistance, consider reaching out to a family member or friend for help with these steps.
