Hi,

I am not sure if my tags are correct, so apologies in advance about that.

My issue is that for over a week now I have not been able to sign in to my microsoft account for my son to use Minecraft (on his Nintendo Switch). It has never been an issue before, but just suddenly stopped working. It fails to automatically login, so I have to press 'sign in' and I am taken to the QR code page, I scan it with my phone, put in my login details, and go to the authenticator app which gets approved, but nothing changes on the switch screen. It just stays on the same QR page as if I have done nothing. If I press B (back) then I am still not logged in.

PLEASE help, my son is going crazy as he cannot access all the mods he has been spending his pocket money on!

Thanks,

SW

Steven Bartholomew I tried the video and removed the 'email code' option but it did not fix the issue. I still have the 'text a code' option and 'send sign in notification' options listed but don't really want to delete these as the videos didn't mention doing. So thanks, but no help unfortunately. Will try minecraft support as suggested by Gérard Oomens and see if I get anywhere. I will post my solution if I find it! Any other suggestions welcome!

Btw, I can sign in to Minecraft.net fine with microsoft account, its just on the switch it appears to be a problem.

    Thanks!

It sounds like you're experiencing a frustrating issue with signing into your Microsoft account on Minecraft for the Nintendo Switch. Here are a few troubleshooting steps you can try:

    1. Check Internet Connection: Ensure that both the Nintendo Switch and the device you are using for authentication (your phone) have a stable internet connection.
    2. Update Minecraft: Make sure that Minecraft is updated to the latest version on the Nintendo Switch. Sometimes, outdated versions can cause sign-in issues.
    3. Restart Devices: Restart both the Nintendo Switch and your phone. This can help clear any temporary glitches that may be affecting the sign-in process.
    4. Clear Cache: If possible, try clearing the cache on the Nintendo Switch or reinstalling the Minecraft app. This can help resolve any corrupted data that might be causing the issue.
    5. Use a Different Device for Authentication: If you have access to another device, try using it to scan the QR code and complete the sign-in process.
    6. Check Microsoft Services Status: Sometimes, Microsoft services may experience outages. You can check the status of Microsoft services online to see if there are any ongoing issues.

If these steps do not resolve the issue, you may want to contact Microsoft Support for further assistance.

Just randomly sorted out the issue via Minecraft support. I happened to be doing this on a laptop rather than a mobile phone, and so used the weblink rather than the QR code. This signed me into my microsoft xbox account and worked (I didn't even realise I had one of these, but must stem from the fact that we used to have Minecraft on an old Xbox 360. Must have been unable to do this while using a phone.

Hope this helps others with a similar problem.

Thanks guys! My son is now very happy!
