is it possible to call Word's compare/combine function as an API or graph end point and pass it N number of documents to merge? This would be similar to how merging revisions would work, but the documents would be different in my use case.

If it’s a simple merge, by which I mean that you are just appending documents to the end of a document, you can do this in Word by going to Insert > Object > Text from file and selecting the additional document(s).
