Will MS Office 2007 work after upgrading to Windows 11

Hello,

Good morning.

I am currently running Windows 10 on my laptop.

According to the MS PC Health Check app my machine is compatible with Windows 11 and I will be upgrading shortly.

I have MS Office 2007 which I use occasionally, only Word and Excel.

A few questions:

  1. Will MS Office 2007 continue to be functional after I upgrade.
  2. Do I need to do anything in particular prior to upgrading?
  3. Will it carry over during with the upgrade or will I have to reinstall?
  4. Is there anything else I need to be aware of? Yes I know that MSO 2007 is not supported but I use it so infrequently that I don't see the necessity to go thru the expense and effort to update.

Much obliged for any advice you can share. Thank you.

    1. Functionality After Upgrade: While Microsoft has maintained a high compatibility rate for applications when upgrading from Windows 10 to Windows 11, Office 2007 is no longer supported. This means that while it may still function after the upgrade, you may encounter issues or lack support for any problems that arise.
    2. Pre-Upgrade Considerations: It is advisable to back up your important files and data before upgrading to ensure you do not lose any important information. Additionally, consider checking for any updates or patches for Office 2007 that might improve compatibility.
    3. Carrying Over Office 2007: Typically, applications like Office 2007 should carry over during the upgrade process without needing to reinstall. However, since it is an unsupported version, there is a risk that it may not function correctly after the upgrade.
    4. Additional Considerations: Given that Office 2007 is not supported, you may want to consider transitioning to a newer version of Office or Microsoft 365 in the future for better compatibility and security. However, if you use Office 2007 infrequently, you might choose to continue using it until you encounter issues.

    Hello !

Office 2007 is technically supported on Windows 11. It will still run after upgrading from Windows 10 to Windows 11. However, keep in mind that Office 2007 is very old and no longer supported by Microsoft.
Everything will carry over during the upgrade, you won't have to reinstall the software after it's completed.
As with every update, be sure to back up your data beforehand, in case something fails.

Please let me know if you have any other question !
