My old PC died and I am trying to activate one of my licences for Office 2010 Professional Plus on a new Windows 11 Snapdragon PC

I have successfully installed Office 2010 Professional Plus on the Win11 machine using my Product Key, along with all of the the many Updates

But when I start Word or Excel it asks for activation. The server doesn't exist or work and I can't find a phone number for manual activation

Help!!

To activate Office 2010 Professional Plus on your new Windows 11 machine, you can try the following steps:

    1. Phone Activation: Since you mentioned that the server doesn't exist or work, using phone activation might be your best option. You can find the phone number for your region by running the command c:\windows\system32\slui.exe 4 in the command prompt. This will allow you to select your country and get the appropriate phone number.
    2. Using the Product Key: Ensure that you are using the correct product key that came with your Office 2010 Professional Plus installation. If you have already entered it during installation, you might need to re-enter it to trigger the activation process.
    3. Manual Activation Steps: If you are able to get through to a representative via phone, provide them with your installation ID, and they will give you a confirmation ID to complete the activation.
    4. Troubleshooting Activation Issues: If you continue to face issues, you can also try using the command ospp.vbs /act to manually activate Office, which may provide you with an error code that can help in troubleshooting further.

If you have any further issues, please refer to the Microsoft support documentation for more detailed guidance on activation problems.

You could try phone activation. See the article at https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/office/-telephone-activation-is-no-longer-supported-for-your-product-error-when-activating-office-9b016cd2-0811-4cb3-b896-5a6a13177713 (even if you don't get the error message mentioned in the article).

    Hello,

You mentioned that the product is Office 2010 Professional Plus. If that is the case, it was certainly purchased from a third party. Microsoft does not sell any “Professional Plus” editions directly to individual consumers. These editions are volume licenses, intended only for organizations.

Using a volume license outside of the organization that originally purchased it is a violation of Microsoft’s licensing terms. Volume licenses are sold to organizations for use by their own users only and are not permitted to be resold to general consumers. Unfortunately, many third-party sellers do this because volume licenses are significantly cheaper than legitimate retail licenses.

The activation error you are seeing strongly suggests that this is a KMS volume license key. KMS licenses require the device to periodically connect to the organization’s KMS server to validate activation. As a home user, you do not have access to such a server, so activation will fail.
