Hi,

I bought a new laptop and linked it to my Microsoft account. my new device and two other previous devices are shown in settings>accounts>linked devices. But when I log into the Microsoft account from web browser, only my first laptop is shown under devices, two other laptops including my new one is not shown there.

Could anyone please help me to fix this issue?

Thank you.

Thimira.

There is a widely reported problem with devices not showing on the Microsoft account online even though the devices are correctly linked, it is a server side issue that Microsoft needs to fix.

Ensure you log into those devices with the Microsoft account and that Location Services is enabled for all apps and also the 'Find My Device' setting is enabled, those devices should then appear on your account once Microsoft have resolved the problem on their side.

I have been dealing with this problem for a long time and I declare that it has been solved by following the steps mentioned in this post
    https://learn.microsoft.com/en-us/answers/questions/3870986/device-is-not-showing-under-my-microsoft-account?page=2#answers

    solution:
Open Command Prompt as administrator, then run

    dsregcmd /status

Then run this to trigger re-registration

    dsregcmd /leave

    dsregcmd /join

    Then reboot your PC

For me: the device appeared immediately after following the steps and restarting, but devices linked to the Microsoft Store were still disabled. This problem was resolved after 7 days, and my device now appears normally.

Expecting Microsoft to fix this problem is like expecting Santa Claus to bring you present. It is not gonna happen. I have this same problem since 2024 November and it still persists today regardless what I did. I tried deleting device, re-add, but the problem seems to be caused by when you have multiple window system in a household using same account and the system sometimes confuse about each devices which results in the issue. I notice that my current device info can be found in my Window's Microsoft account info but not in the account device management in browser. The device info in window is listing the correct hardware of my current laptop but is showing my old laptop's operating system. In short, I doubt this problem will ever be be fixed. Go to setting->account-> linked device and check if the publishing date matches your new laptop or to your old laptop's.
