On my Windows 11 Desktop Microsoft Edge crashes immediately. If I go to settings/Apps/Edge i cannot modify or uninstall. It will not stay open long enough to adjust any settings such as extensions, etc.

Open Command Prompt as Administrator, then run this command to open Edge with all extensions disabled to check if Edge will open and you can delete the extensions.

    start msedge --disable-extensions

If Edge will still not open, download the Edge installer from this link and use that to re-install Edge on top of the existing installation.

If Microsoft Edge is crashing immediately upon opening, you can try a few troubleshooting steps:

    1. Clear Local Data: You can clear the crash diagnostic data stored locally on your device. To do this, go to edge://crashes in the Edge address bar and click the Clear all button.
    2. Reinstall Microsoft Edge: If you cannot modify or uninstall Edge through the settings, you can download the Edge installer from the official Microsoft website and run it to reinstall Edge on top of the existing installation. This might resolve any issues with the current installation.
    3. Check for Known Issues: Sometimes, specific versions of Edge may have known issues that cause crashes. You can check for any high-impact issues related to your version of Edge and see if there are any recommended workarounds.
    4. Use Windows Repair Tools: Since you mentioned you are on Windows 11, running the built-in repair tools like SFC (System File Checker) or DISM (Deployment Imaging Service and Management Tool) can help fix underlying system issues that might be affecting Edge.

If these steps do not resolve the issue, consider reaching out to Microsoft support for further assistance.
