I close my computer and put it in my bag and it sleeps with my mouse inside, and by the time I get to my destination, my computer will overheat in the bag and the battery will be drained because the mouse woke it up. Sometimes the mouse doesn't wake it up in the bag but sometimes it does. This is seriously annoying cuz I don't want to have to turn off my mouse every single time!!. My computer has 2 USB A ports with 1 always on for charging devices and my mouse is plugged in this always on port

None of these solutions work for me. When I use the command I get the response NONE but when I put the computer to sleep, then move the mouse, it wakes up again. I have disables wake from sleep for everything from the monitor, mouse, network, but it still won't go to sleep reliably, and will wake up seemingly at random.

Based on searching online about this topic, the correct response from Microsoft to any queries about this should be "Windows 11 sleep functionality is broken"

    Thanks for updating me.

Since the command output shows None, your mouse is no longer allowed to wake the laptop, but your laptop uses Modern Standby, so it can still wake for other reasons.

Go to Settings > System > Power > Network connectivity in sleep > Set everything to Never.

Then, right-click Start > Device Manager >Bluetooth Adapter > Right-click your Bluetooth device if any > Properties > Power Management tab (if available) > Uncheck Allow this device to wake the computer and Allow this device to wake the computer from standby > OK.

You can also use Hibernate instead of Sleep. It uses no power and cannot wake by itself.

    Hi ,

I'm Dyari. Thanks for reaching out. I will be happy to assist you in this regard.

To confirm the mouse is the wake culprit, click Start > Open Command Prompt and run this comman:

    powercfg -devicequery wake_armed

If the mouse shows up, you can disable wake with:

    powercfg -devicedisablewake "HID-compliant mouse"

Mine is "HID-compliant mouse", if it is something else on your computer, replace it.

Please let me know if you need further assistance.

To prevent your wireless mouse from waking your computer while it's in your bag, you can adjust the power management settings for the mouse in Windows 11. Here’s how you can do it:

    1. Open Device Manager: Right-click on the Start menu and select "Device Manager".
    2. Locate your Mouse: Expand the "Mice and other pointing devices" section.
    3. Access Properties: Right-click on your wireless mouse and select "Properties".
    4. Power Management Tab: Go to the "Power Management" tab.
    5. Uncheck the Option: Look for the option that says "Allow this device to wake the computer" and uncheck it.
    6. Apply Changes: Click "OK" to apply the changes.

This should stop your mouse from waking the computer when it is in sleep mode, helping to conserve battery life and prevent overheating in your bag.
