My issue was finally solved with just waiting. Not before I'd gone in and deleted cookies and caches etc which for some things I really didn't want to do.

Edge: Too Many Requests error occurs in both Chrome and Edge browsers (my default home page) . Problem seems to be caused after insalling new version of Outlook with yahoo, email account probably using edge to connect.

Not an answer, just my encounters.

I use Mozilla T-Bird. Its at the latest release level.

About four days ago, I encountered the repetitive "Enter credentials...."

For various objectives/needs, I have six yahoo accounts .

Only one account is beset with the "issue".

This "issue" occurs immediately after activating T-bird on my Win-11-Pro PC.

I've cleared cache, etc. multiple times -- all to no avail.

I set the timers in all my Yahoo accounts to irregular times.

Today, I've unchecked "[_] Check for new messages at startup", in all but one account to see if it "helps". Alas NO change.

BTW, I don't encounter any issues reaching any and all Yahoo mail accounts via Mozilla Firefox and "https://mail.yahoo.com/d/folders/1"

Before anyone leaps, the issue arises even after T-Bird has been open for a lengthy period of time, e.g.: minutes to hours.

Hi, thanks for reaching out. When Edge shows “too many requests” while signing in to Yahoo Mail, it usually means the browser sent too many login attempts too fast. Does this happen after several tries or right away? Try clearing your cache and cookies in Edge settings, then close and reopen the browser before signing in again. If that doesn’t work, open an in Private window or check that Edge is updated under Settings > About Microsoft Edge. These steps often fix sign-in issues caused by stored data or rate limits.
