    Hi Ken Laurel,

    Welcome to Microsoft Q&A!

The System Manufacturer field normally comes from the device’s BIOS/UEFI firmware. If you're trying to change the hardware manufacturer listed in System Information (msinfo32) or in BIOS, that's impossible without specialized manufacturer firmware tools.

However, if you are fine with simply changing the labels under Settings > System > About or in System Properties, you can modify the optional OEM information. While this doesn't change the actual system manufacturer, it allows you to customize the information displayed.

    1. Press Win + R > type regedit > press Enter to open Registry Editor
    2. Go to HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\OEMInformation
    3. If the OEMInformation key doesn’t exist, you can add it by choosing New > Key
    4. On the right side, you can create or edit string values, including Manufacturer
    5. Close Registry Editor and restart your PC.

Disclaimer: Generally, modifying registry subkeys or work group is intended for advanced users, administrators, and IT Professionals. It can help fix some problems, however, serious problems might occur if you modify the registry incorrectly. Therefore, make sure that you follow these steps carefully. For further protection, first check out How to back up and restore the registry in Windows - Microsoft Support

You can also check out the premade registry script here: How to Change OEM Information and System Product Name & in Windows 10 & 11 - MajorGeeks. The page also has detailed guidance on how to modify the fields to get the results you want.

I hope the information above help. If you're referring specifically to the BIOS-reported value in msinfo32's System Information, that comes from your motherboard's firmware and unfortunately, cannot be changed through Windows alone.

To change the System Manufacturer name in the system information, you typically need to modify the system's BIOS or UEFI settings, or use specific OEM customization tools if you are creating a custom Windows image. The System Manufacturer name is often derived from the SMBIOS data, which is set by the hardware manufacturer.

If you are working with Windows deployment, you can also provide a SupportProvider parameter in the OEMInformation section of your unattended setup XML file. This allows you to differentiate the name of your support app or website from the name of your brand. However, the Manufacturer setting has been deprecated and may not be effective in newer versions of Windows.

For more detailed customization, refer to the documentation on specifying hardware IDs and OEM information for Windows installations.
