    Hello,

When you click on print, in the pop up window, can you double check the printer selection, any chance it was set to "Print to PDF"? If so, you want to make sure you select the correct printer instead. Print to PDF will always prompt you to save as a PDF file instead.

To troubleshoot the issue where your printer is not printing and instead prompts you to save the document, you can try the following steps:

    1. Check Printer Status: Ensure that your printer is powered on and in a ready state. Verify that it is set as the default printer on your laptop.
    2. Print a Test Page: Attempt to print a test page from the printer settings to see if the printer is functioning correctly.
    3. Check Disk Space: Make sure that there is enough available disk space on your system drive. Lack of space can prevent larger print jobs from spooling correctly.
    4. Restart Print Spooler Service: Sometimes, the Print Spooler service can get stuck. Restart it by following these steps:
      • Open the Services application, find Print Spooler, right-click it, and select Restart.
      • Alternatively, you can use Command Prompt or PowerShell to restart the service.
    5. Update Printer Driver: Ensure that you have the latest printer driver installed. If the current driver is up to date, consider switching to a generic in-box driver to see if that resolves the issue.
    6. Check for Stuck Print Jobs: If there are any stuck print jobs, clear the print queue and try resubmitting your print job.
    7. Clear Spool Folder: Navigate to the spool folder (C:\Windows\System32\spool\PRINTERS) and delete any old files that may be causing issues. You may need to stop the Print Spooler service to do this.

By following these steps, you should be able to identify and resolve the printing issue you're experiencing.
