Rate Limit Increase - how?

Hello everyone

We're experiencing a critical issue with our Azure OpenAI rate limits and urgently need assistance.

The Problem: Our current rate limits are significantly below the default rate limits documented in your help center. Specifically:

  • Default RPM: 3,000 (Our RPM: 500)
  • Default TPM: 300,000 (Our RPM: 50,000)

Our production workloads require higher limits to operate effectively, and we're currently being throttled despite being well within what should be standard allocations.

Our Subscription Details:

  • We have an active paid support plan
  • Monthly Azure spending: 4-digit amounts
  • Deployment type: Data Zone Standard (Global Standard is the same limits)

What We Need: We need our rate limits increased to at least match the default values shown in the Azure documentation, or ideally higher to support our growing production needs.

This is impacting our production environment and customer experience. We've been trying to reach support through multiple channels without success.

Maybe someone has an idea! :)

Thanks and regards, Maurice

To request an increase in your Azure OpenAI rate limits, you need to submit a quota increase request. Here are the steps you should follow:

    1. Ensure Eligibility: Make sure your company is a registered business and has passed domain verification, as this is required to receive quota limit increases.
    2. Submit a Request: You can submit your request for a quota increase through the appropriate form. The link to the quota increase request form is available in the Azure documentation.
    3. Provide Justification: When submitting your request, include a business justification for why you need the increase, especially since you are experiencing throttling issues that affect your production workloads.
    4. Monitor Your Request: Due to high demand, quota increase requests are evaluated in the order they are received, and priority is given to customers who generate traffic that consumes the existing quota allocation.

If you continue to experience issues, consider reaching out to Azure support directly through your paid support plan for further assistance.
