    What I can say from the SQL Server side of this is that this message:

    A network-related or instance-specific error has occurred while establishing a connection to SQL Server. Server is not found or not accessible. Check if instance name is correct and if SQL Server is configured to allow remote connections. For more information see SQL Server Books Online.

    Simply means that the SQL Server instance you tried to connect to was not found. This could due to a number of reasons:

    • Instance not running.
    • Server and/or instance name is incorrect.
    • There is a firewall issue.
    • In case of a named instance, the Browser service is not running.

    Exactly how this translates in the context of SCCM, I don't know since I am not acquainted with that product. But from ignorant point of view, I would try to connect to the instance, or more precisely troubleshoot the connection problem with involving the SCCM operation.

    sccm was connecting to Sql always on but version was not supported
