My word is very very slow.

It is only a 28 page document with just a table and text.

It takes 4 / 5 seconds for every letter to appear.

thanks

If you open Notepad, Excel or any other app, if you type in that app, is the same problem occurring when you type, is it also taking time for the characters to appear when you type in those apps.

Press and hold Ctrl on your keyboard when you open Word to open it in Safe Mode, is the same problem occurring when you type in Word in Safe Mode.

If Microsoft Word is running very slowly, particularly with a document that has a table and text, it could be due to several reasons. One common cause for slowness is the presence of excessive tracked changes or comments in the document. Even if your document is only 28 pages, if it has a lot of tracked changes, it can significantly affect performance.

Here are some steps you can take to improve the performance:

    1. Accept or Reject Tracked Changes: If your document has tracked changes, consider accepting or rejecting them to reduce the load on Word.
    2. Reduce Hardware Acceleration: Sometimes, reducing hardware acceleration can help. You can do this by going to the display settings on your computer and adjusting the hardware acceleration settings.
    3. Check for Updates: Ensure that your version of Word is up to date, as updates can fix performance issues.
    4. Open in Safe Mode: Try opening Word in Safe Mode to see if the issue persists. This can help identify if add-ins are causing the slowdown.
    5. Check Document for Corruption: If the document is damaged, it may also lead to performance issues. You can try opening other documents to see if the problem is specific to this one.

If these steps do not resolve the issue, you may need to troubleshoot further or consider reaching out for support.
