To disable the direction pop-ups in Excel, you may want to check if you have any features like "Smart Tags" or "AutoComplete" enabled. You can try the following steps:

    1. Disable Smart Tags: Go to File > Options > Proofing > AutoCorrect Options. In the AutoCorrect dialog, look for any settings related to Smart Tags and disable them.
    2. Turn Off AutoComplete: In the same AutoCorrect Options dialog, you can also find settings for AutoComplete. Uncheck any options that you do not want to see.
    3. Check for Add-ins: Sometimes, add-ins can cause pop-ups. Go to File > Options > Add-Ins and disable any add-ins that might be causing the pop-ups.

After making these changes, restart Excel to see if the pop-ups have been removed.

The pop-ups are Wisesheets and FMP . I tried to use them and decided I did not need them.

I used the ChatGPT to try and remove them. When I ran an "infected" workbook they popups infected my laptop! The AI wrote several routines all of wich did not work

There was no option on the popups to remove them.

    • Which exactly the popup that you see when completing the worksheet? Can you share a screenshot of that popup?
    • Are you using Excel on the web or Excel desktop app?

Please understand that my initial response may not always resolve the issue immediately. However, with your help and more detailed information, we can work together to find a solution.

Thank you for your understanding and cooperation. I look forward to hearing from you.
