    Hi Kuanghui Yang,
Welcome to Microsoft Q&A forum. I'm happy to help.

In Disk Management, do you have any more partitions beside those 3 you mentioned?

If you don't, then the extend capacity is quite limited as EFI System and Recovery Partition is necessary and should not be deleted. Recovery Partition typically requires 500 MB minimum, so you can only extend about 1.2 GB, it's not a lot.

In case you still want to resize / extend the C partition, you need to use a third-party application such as MiniTool Partition Wizard.

Disclaimer: Microsoft provides no assurances and/or warranties, implied or otherwise, and is not responsible for the information you receive from the third-party linked sites or any support related to technology.

    Here are the suggestion steps:

    • Resize the Recovery Partition to 500MB, leave unallocated space to the same size of C partition.
    • Extend the C partition to take the unallocated space.

I hope that above information is helpful to you.

If you have trouble along the way, please feel free to let me know.

    Hi Kuanghui,

There must be unallocated space immediately to right of volume C in order to extend it using Disk Management. Please right-click Start, and click Disk Management. Maximize Disk Management, adjust the column widths in the top pane to make all the entries visible. Post a screenshot.

Open Command Prompt admin and run this command:

    reagentc /info

    Post the output.

To extend your C drive in Windows 10, you need to have unallocated space adjacent to it. Since your C drive is bordered by the EFI System partition on the left and a Recovery partition on the right, you cannot extend the C drive directly using Disk Management. Here are some steps you can follow:

    1. Backup Your Data: Always ensure you have a backup of important files before modifying partitions.
    2. Third-Party Partition Software: Since Windows Disk Management does not allow you to extend the C drive when there are partitions on both sides, consider using third-party partition management software. These tools can often move partitions and create unallocated space next to the C drive.
    3. Moving the Recovery Partition: If you are comfortable with advanced options, you can use third-party software to move the Recovery partition. This will create unallocated space next to the C drive, allowing you to extend it.
    4. Follow Instructions: Each partition management tool will have specific instructions, so follow them closely to avoid any data loss.
    5. Restart Your Computer: After making the changes, restart your system to ensure everything is functioning correctly.

If you are unsure about these steps or using third-party software, it may be wise to consult a professional for assistance.
