Hi. I'm Brian and I'll try to help.

You shouldn't need your product key if you have previously activated Office when you first received the key and wish to reinstall it on the same computer. You should be able to find your license at https://account.microsoft.com/services.

I have the same problem. My confirmation email has no key and no download link - the purchase isn't showing on my account because it is over 7 years old I believe. the HUP page also doesn't help.

Actually I want just to migrate to a new computer. I was able to install it on the new computer using the link from the old confirmation email, but could not activate it. When I try, I only got the option of activating 365. Is this because it is still alive on the old computer? How can I activated it on the new computer?

You should uninstall from the older computer, because perpetual licenses are usually just for one computer (and one user).

Note that uninstall may not suffice.

If activation fails, I recommend that you try phone activation. Use the phone number for your region from the support article at https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/office/-telephone-activation-is-no-longer-supported-for-your-product-error-when-activating-office-9b016cd2-0811-4cb3-b896-5a6a13177713 (even if you are not seeing the error message mentioned in the article).

Your subscription should be associated with a Microsoft account at https://account.microsoft.com/services, as Brian suggested.

However, for HUP (Home Use Program) purchases, you may also check with the order history page at https://www.microsoft.com/en-us/workplace-discount-program/order-history . You'll need to enter the original work e-mail which is associated with the purchase (not the account you used for installing the product on your PC).

P.S. The actual product key can't be reused.

To find your Microsoft Office 2016 product key from the Home Use Program (HUP), you typically need to check the email confirmation you received when you purchased Office through HUP. The product key is usually included in that email. If you cannot find the email, you may also log into the HUP website using your work email to access your purchase history and retrieve the product key from there.

If you have any further issues, consider contacting your organization's IT department or Microsoft support for assistance.
