2026-02-02T21:29:28.3033333+00:00 Do the thumbnails work if you move the files to a folder that's not within your user folders? For example, try creating a folder off the root of drive C: such as C:\PNG and move them there.

2026-02-04T13:50:02.0833333+00:00 A user over at elevenforum.com had a similar issue and it turned out to be caused by Google Drive.
Do you have Google Drive or any other cloud storage software, such as DropBox, Box, or iDrive, installed?
OneDrive can also cause this issue. That appeared to have been eliminated by testing from another folder, but it's hard to be certain without testing with another account that is free of OneDrive.
Please test with another local user account to verify that the issue is specific to your user profile. If it works fine with a different local account, and it's not a thumbnail cache issue, then it's very likely caused by some software specific to your account.

2026-02-04T14:31:21.9233333+00:00 Reset the thumbnail cache after uninstalling TeraBox. If it's still not fixed, then I think it's time to test with another account.

Select Options.
Go to the View tab.
Ensure the box "Always show icons, never thumbnails" is unchecked.
Click Apply and then OK.

2026-02-02T21:31:16.45+00:00 Are these .HEIC image files? If so, you probably need the .HEIF image extension from the Microsoft store.

If these are not .HEIC image files, let me know and I will see what I can do to troubleshoot this issue further.

2026-02-02T21:45:19.95+00:00 Since it is confirmed that the files are .PNG and not .HEIC, there are a few more things recommended to do.
Restart Windows ExplorerPress Ctrl + Shift + Esc to open Task Manager.
In the Processes tab, find Windows Explorer.
Right-click it and select Restart.
Reset the Folders to Default
Open File Explorer and click the three dots > Options.
In the View tab, click the Reset Folders button.
Then, click Restore Defaults at the bottom.
Click Apply and OK.
