When I clicked on View Features I do NOT see Windows Media Player Legacy (App). That's my whole problem. When I open up Control Panel and go to Uninstall a program, then Turn Windows features on or off, I get Windows Features. I scroll down to Media Features and I see ONLY Media Features...no Windows Media Player Legacy!
So you see why I'd want to download the installation program. Tom <removed PII>@sbcglobal.net

When you click on View features you then need to click on See available features

I have the same problem. I don't see "Windows Media Player Legacy" in the View Feature window.
Anyone found a solution?
Did you then click See available features?

or right click the start button and select Terminal (Admin)
Paste in the command below then press enter:
DISM /Online /Enable-Feature /FeatureName:"WindowsMediaPlayer" /All
i do not have "Add an optional feature" in my Settings-Apps Folder. Sorry...

Go to the start menu > settings > apps > optional features
Click the View features button next to "Add an optional feature."
Type "Windows Media Player" in the search bar.
Check the box for Windows Media Player Legacy (App) and click Next, then Install.
Once the installation finishes, you can find it by searching your Start menu for "Media Player Legacy."

To install Windows Media Player Legacy, follow this tutorial from Microsoft's support : https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/windows/windows-media-player-legacy-e8f84f54-cd64-865c-2e83-1d8ec121b5b8
It works for both Windows 10 and Windows 11.
