Dear Support Team,
I am writing to report a serious and recurring issue with my laptop that I have been unable to resolve despite extensive troubleshooting.
Problem description: My laptop shuts down suddenly without any warning when running on battery power (even at 50–70% charge). The screen goes black instantly with no shutdown animation or error message. The system only powers back on when I press the power button again.
Observed behavior:
- The issue occurs only when the charger is unplugged
Battery health is 100% (confirmed via battery report)
No overheating is observed
Windows Event Viewer consistently logs Kernel-Power Event ID 41, indicating an unexpected power loss
No blue screen or Windows crash is recorded
Troubleshooting already performed:
Updated BIOS, Embedded Controller (EC), and Intel Management Engine firmware (successfully)
Adjusted Windows power settings (CPU throttling, PCI Express power management, battery thresholds)
Verified battery condition and capacity (new laptop, battery is healthy)
Checked Device Manager for driver rollback/disable options (not available due to firmware control)
Issue still occurs after all updates and configuration changes
Impact: This issue makes the system unreliable and unusable on battery power, which defeats the purpose of a portable device.
Request: I would like your assistance to:
Identify the root cause of this sudden power loss on battery (firmware, driver, or hardware-level issue)
Provide a permanent solution or official guidance
Confirm whether this behavior qualifies for repair or replacement if it is a known hardware or firmware defect
Please let me know what additional logs, tests, or information you require from my side. I am available to cooperate fully to resolve this issue.
Thank you for your time and support.
Kind regards, BasitDear Support Team,
