So I have asked this question before with Microsoft, but I can't access my own previous question, and there are more to this issue. I used to use Microsoft 365 for everything: reading my emails, calendar updates, etc. But was told because of this Microsoft glitch, that I should be using the Desktop version of Microsoft Outlook for everything. Once I did that, seemed like I wasn't getting any complaints when I had to update a Calendar invite.
This morning since I was rushing to work, I had to add an attendee to our meeting. When I did that through my iphone using Microsoft 365, I went into the calendar invitation, added one person and sent it (it didn't ask to just send it to the new attendees or all attendees). Then immediately I got attendees emailing me if the meeting is cancelled and that it was erased from their calendar.
So maybe it's a Microsoft 365 thing? Otherwise, I shouldn't have to work around Microsoft on this (i.e. Go to the Desktop version, go through a browser, or not ever use my phone) to be able to update something in the Calendar invite without people freaking out that it's cancelled. It's annoying and doesn't help any of us. Please, help!

Thank you for reaching out, Janessa Stone, I am sorry to hear that you are having issues with your Outlook Calendar invitation, my name is Noel, and I am here to help.
Possible Causes:
Using Outlook on Mobile or Web (Microsoft 365)
New Outlook App Behavior
Large Attendee Lists
Please try these steps to fix the issue:
Use the Desktop Version of Outlook: Many users report fewer issues when managing calendar invites through the full desktop client rather than mobile or web apps.
Send Updates Only to New Attendees: When modifying a meeting, choose the option to send updates only to added or removed attendees. This avoids confusing notifications.
Monitor Teams Status: If you're using Microsoft Teams, ensure your presence status doesn’t
Audit Delegation Settings: If assistants or delegates manage your calendar, ensure permissions are correctly configured to prevent unintended cancellations.
