Microsoft Purview Portal — Account Settings Page Not Loading

Environment:

  • Commercial Azure tenant with Office 365 G5 licenses
    • Newly created Microsoft Purview resource in dev subscription
    • Accessing via purview.microsoft.com (new portal experience)\

Issue: Account Settings Page Not Rendering

We created a new Microsoft Purview resource in our dev Azure subscription. When

navigating to the Account settings page in the Microsoft Purview portal

(purview.microsoft.com) to enable pay-as-you-go billing for the Data Catalog / Unified

Catalog, the page does not load. All other areas of the Purview portal function normally

— role assignments, Data Map, etc. are accessible. Without the Account settings page,

we cannot enable PAYG billing, which blocks us from using the Unified Catalog features.

Steps attempted:

  • Verified resource providers (Microsoft.Purview, Microsoft.Storage, Microsoft.EventHub) are registered in the subscription
  • Tried InPrivate/Incognito browser sessions and multiple browsers
    • Confirmed the user has appropriate admin roles
    • Other Purview portal pages load without issues
    • Classic portal (web.purview.azure.com) is accessible but also requires PAYG to be
    enabled

    Hi Ryan Rice,
In the new Microsoft Purview portal, the Account Settings page depends on tenant‑level Pay‑as‑you‑go consent, not just the Purview resource configuration.

If PAYG consent has not been completed by a Microsoft Entra ID Global Administrator, the Account Settings page may not load, even though other Purview features work.

To resolve this, sign in as a Global Administrator, associate an active Azure subscription in the same tenant, and complete the PAYG enablement from Settings → Account details. After consent is completed and propagated, the Account Settings page loads correctly and Unified Catalog features become available.
To resolve this issue, sign in using a Microsoft Entra ID Global Administrator account and access https://purview.microsoft.com. From the portal, open Settings and then go to Account details. Associate an active Azure subscription that belongs to the same tenant and complete the Pay‑as‑you‑go consent process. After the consent is completed and the configuration is fully propagated by Microsoft, reload the Purview portal.

    Once completed:
    Account Settings loads correctly
    Unified Catalog features become available
Classic and new portal behave consistently

It appears that you are experiencing an issue with the Account Settings page not loading in the Microsoft Purview portal. Since other areas of the portal are functioning correctly and you have already verified resource providers and attempted various troubleshooting steps, here are a few additional suggestions:

    1. Check Network Settings: Ensure that your network settings allow access to the necessary endpoints. If your Microsoft Purview account has disabled all public network access, you may need to adjust your firewall settings to allow access to specific endpoints required for the Account Settings page.
    2. Private Endpoints: If you are using private endpoints, confirm that they are correctly configured for the new experience. You might need to set up a platform private endpoint if your account has disabled public access.
    3. Browser Cache: Although you have tried different browsers, clearing the cache and cookies in your current browser might help resolve any loading issues.
    4. Permissions: Ensure that the user account you are using has the Global Administrator role, as only this role can enable the pay-as-you-go model.

If these steps do not resolve the issue, you may want to reach out to Microsoft support for further assistance, as there may be specific configurations or issues related to your Azure subscription that need to be addressed.
