Microsoft Print to PDF produced 0-byte documents since February 2, 2026. Using "Windows Features Turn On and Off", ended with error code 0x800F0922. Dell was not able to restore this function. Anyone have a cure for printing Outlook emails as PDF files?

To restore the "Microsoft Print to PDF" feature, you can try the following steps:

    1. Check Windows Features: Go to "Control Panel" > "Programs" > "Turn Windows features on or off". Ensure that "Microsoft Print to PDF" is checked. If you encounter error code 0x800F0922, it may indicate a problem with Windows updates or system files.
    2. Run Windows Update: Make sure your system is up to date. Sometimes, missing updates can cause features to malfunction.
    3. Repair Windows System Files: You can use the System File Checker tool to repair missing or corrupted system files. Open Command Prompt as an administrator and run the command sfc /scannow.
    4. Reinstall Microsoft Print to PDF: If the feature is still not working, you can try removing it and then reinstalling it. Use the following steps:
      • Open "Control Panel" > "Devices and Printers".
      • Right-click on "Microsoft Print to PDF" and select "Remove device".
      • After removing it, go back to "Turn Windows features on or off" and re-enable it.
    5. Check Printer Settings: Ensure that your default printer is set correctly and not to a virtual printer that might be causing issues.

If these steps do not resolve the issue, consider checking for more specific solutions related to your version of Windows or contacting Microsoft support for further assistance.

    Hi,

Thank you for sharing your question. I know how frustrating this can be, especially when you rely on the Print to PDF option to save Outlook emails or other documents.

This issue can occur when system components required by Microsoft Print to PDF become corrupted, when Windows cannot complete the feature installation, or when a recent update affects the print subsystem. Microsoft recommends running the Windows Printer Troubleshooter, restarting the Print Spooler service, and reinstalling Microsoft Print to PDF using DISM or SFC to repair corrupted system files. You can also add a virtual PDF printer such as Microsoft XPS Document Writer as a temporary workaround. Ensuring Windows is fully updated may also help, as updates often include fixes for print feature failures.

Have you already tried running SFC or DISM to repair Windows components before attempting to re‑enable Microsoft Print to PDF?

Feel free to let me know what results you get, and I’ll be happy to help you move forward if the issue continues.

    I hope this helps.

    Best Regards,

    Noel
