A good free alternative for desktop software is the open-source LibreOffice. It has good compatibility with Office file formats.

You can use Microsoft Word for free by accessing Word for the web. This is a browser-based version of Microsoft Word that allows you to create and edit documents without needing to pay for a subscription. Simply go to the Microsoft website and sign in with a Microsoft account to start using it.

Additionally, you can explore using open-source alternatives like LibreOffice, which is compatible with Office formats and can be downloaded for free.

    Hi there!

Just to add up to the above, there are no free Microsoft word apps but for the Microsoft word online, that you can use it for free. You can try and access it here:

    https://word.cloud.microsoft/

Just sign in to your Microsoft account to access the Word online. Additionally, you can also try to sign-up for a Microsoft 365 subscription if you'd like to try it for a limited time here: https://www.microsoft.com/en-us/microsoft-365/free-office-online-for-the-web

This helps for you to use the app for a while and decide whether to continue it in the future. You can at anytime cancel the subscription trial on your account page: https://account.microsoft.com/services

Please note that this is a public forum, I will be responding you in short period of time and regret for a delay in response. As I am merely a fellow user trying to provide insight and information that may be helpful to others. Thanks!
