How do I turn off ads in microsoft windows 11

I've done all this stuff, but still getting pop up ads in the bottom right hand corner of my screen. Help.

Disabling Ads in Windows 11

To turn off ads in Windows 11, follow these steps to adjust your settings:

Open Settings by right-clicking the Start button.
Go to Personalization.
Click on Start.
Turn off the option labeled Show recommendations for tips, shortcuts, new apps, and more.

Remove Ads from the Lock Screen

Click on General.
Turn off Let apps show me personalized ads by using my advertising ID.

Consider using WinAero Tweaker to restore the full right-click menu and further customize your experience.

SO ANNOYING to keep getting an ad popup in the lower right WITHOUT an "X" to exit out of it. And if you click on it, a new window opens. I DEFINITELY WON'T be looking at those ads, nor will I purchase anything that does that. Microsoft, you need to stop this.
DO NOT update the settings with a new software update either. LEAVE THEM AS I HAVE THEM SET. NO ADs.

If you have disabled all those settings and that did not resolve the problem, on the adverts you see, is there the name of a website?

If so, the adverts are generated by your browser.

If you use the Edge browser, open Edge, click the 3 dots at the top right, and select Settings.

In the search box in Edge settings, type notifications.

On the right, select 'Notifications - Ask First'.

If there is a list of websites allowed to generate notifications, delete them all from the list, then restart (not shut down) your PC.

The ads are coming from Microsoft. mcafee(even though I deleted the software) other microsoft stuff. It is all Microsoft related stuff. I use firefox as my browser. thanks. brian

I don't have one I delete them, just like I deleted this mornings microsoft ad. thanks brian

Open FireFox.

At the top right, click the burger menu and open Firefox Settings.

Type Permissions in the search box in FireFox settings.

Then, in the Permissions section, click Notifications.

Is there a list of websites there that are allowed to create notifications on your PC, if so, delete them all

Okay, thank you for that information.

The nest time you see a notification for McAfee..etc. please provide a screenshot of the notification, so I can try to work out what is generating the notification for you.

Thank you for the screenshot, that may be a legitimate advert generated by Windows, if you click the 3 dots beside the close button (X) on that advert, what options are there?

This is an old ad. nothing current. When this started I did that, but I think it was already turned off, nothing I could click on the specific ad to turn off ads. I'll try to remember on the next one. thanks again. brian

Got a new Mcafee ad today. Copy of the ad and copy of the three dots. Even though I have turned off every notification I can find, these come through and then I have to cancel or turn off these individually? thanks. Brian
