Hello nathaniel rios, welcome to Microsoft Q&A Forum.
I understand how frustrating it is to have unwanted album art stuck in Media Player, especially if the image looks suspicious or inappropriate.
The AI answer above covers using Windows Media Player's built-in tag editor—try that first if the option is available. If that doesn't work or the option isn't there, here's what else you can try:
- Windows File Properties method: Right-click the song file > Properties > Details tab > click "Remove Properties and Personal Information" at the bottom > select "Remove the following properties from this file" > check any album art or image-related properties > OK.
- If that doesn't remove it, use Mp3tag: Album art is often embedded inside the MP3 file itself, and Windows can't always remove it. Download Mp3tag (a free third-party tool) > open your music files > select the file(s) > right-click the album art thumbnail > "Remove cover" > Save.
- Delete hidden album art files in your music folder: Open File Explorer > go to your music folder > View > Show > check "Hidden items" > look for hidden image files like
Folder.jpg,AlbumArtSmall.jpg> delete them. - If the album art still shows: Close Media Player completely > open File Explorer and paste this in the address bar:
%LocalAppData%\Microsoft\Media Player> delete the "Art Cache" folder > restart Media Player. This clears Media Player's cached images.
