There is no automatic reply option in my Outlook. I'm using MS365 and a gmail address. Do I have a setting incorrect?

Hello David L, thanks for posting this in the community.

The Automatic Replies feature is not available when you use a Gmail account in Outlook because this option only works with Microsoft Exchange or Outlook.com mailboxes. Gmail does not support server‑side automatic replies inside Outlook. To set an auto‑reply, you can create a rule in Outlook that sends an automatic response, or you can set a vacation responder directly in your Gmail settings at mail.google.com. This will work even if your Gmail is connected to Outlook.

    Kind regards,

    John Oli

Automatic Replies in Outlook are only available for certain account types (such as Microsoft Exchange/Outlook.com). A Gmail account added via IMAP/POP does not support this feature.

Because the profile is using a Gmail address, the Automatic Replies button will not appear. This is expected and not caused by an incorrect setting.

To send out-of-office messages with Gmail in classic Outlook, a rule must be used and Outlook must remain running while away. Follow the guidance in “Use rules to create an out of office message in Outlook” to configure this.
