    Hello

I need the exact/specific information regarding where/how you tried to sync that led to this error.

Any chance you tried to log in in the File Explorer?

Gmail accounts cannot be synced “to OneDrive.” Gmail can be connected to Outlook/Microsoft Cloud for mail, calendar, and contacts, but that is separate from OneDrive file storage. The error shown indicates an invalid operation, which is consistent with trying to use a scenario that is not supported (Gmail → OneDrive sync) and not related to having or not having a work/school account.

For Gmail, only these supported Microsoft Cloud integrations are available in the provided information:

    1. Connect Gmail to Outlook (mail, calendar, contacts)
      • Enable IMAP in Gmail:
        1. Go to Gmail in a browser.
        2. Open Settings → “Forwarding and POP/IMAP”.
        3. Under IMAP Access, select “Enable IMAP” and save.
      • Configure the account in Outlook using the correct IMAP/SMTP settings:
        • Incoming (IMAP): imap.gmail.com, SSL, port 993
        • Outgoing (SMTP): smtp.gmail.com, SSL/TLS, authentication required, port 465 (SSL) or 587 (TLS/STARTTLS)
      • Ensure required folders (Inbox, Sent Mail, Trash, All Mail) are set to “Show in IMAP” under Gmail Settings → Labels so Outlook can sync them.
    2. Use Gmail in Outlook mobile (iOS/Android)
      • Gmail can be added as a non‑Microsoft account in Outlook for iOS/Android for mail, calendar, and contacts. IMAP supports mail only.

There is no documented or supported method in the provided material to sync a Gmail account directly to OneDrive. To work with Gmail content in the Microsoft ecosystem, use Outlook integration as described above; OneDrive will continue to handle file storage separately.
