Hello, good day and thanks for your question. To add to the above, were you able to proceed with the update of the payment method and also with the payment of the subscription or you have encountered an error during the process?

To pay the outstanding £4.46 with new bank details, update the payment method first, then pay the past-due invoice.

For a personal Microsoft 365 / consumer subscription:

    1. Go to Services & subscriptions at https://account.microsoft.com/services and sign in with the Microsoft account that owns the subscription.
    2. Find the subscription that shows Past due and select Pay now.
    3. When prompted for payment, choose to add a new payment method or update the existing one (for example, new debit/credit card linked to the new bank account). For detailed steps, see Change your Microsoft account payment method.
    4. After the new payment method is saved, select Next and complete the payment for the past-due amount.

    Notes:

    • Gift cards, subscription cards, or Microsoft account balance cannot be used to pay a past-due subscription.
    • Once the overdue amount is paid with the new payment method, that method becomes the active one for future recurring charges for that subscription.

For a Microsoft 365 business subscription (admin center):

    1. Go to the Microsoft 365 admin center and sign in as a billing admin.
    2. Go to Billing > Bills & payments (or Subscriptions > View invoices, depending on the view).
    3. Select the invoice that shows the outstanding balance (for example, the invoice that includes £4.46) and choose Pay your balance.
    4. In the Pay your balance pane, select Next.
    5. Choose to use another payment method or add a new payment method (card from the new bank account), then Next.
    6. Follow the prompts to enter the new payment details, then select Review and pay balance and Save.

If the previous payment method was declined, the new payment method used to clear the overdue amount becomes the new default for all subscriptions that used the declined method.

If payment still fails after updating the bank details, contact the bank to confirm the card is enabled for online and recurring transactions and has sufficient funds.
