2026-03-15T14:55:14.1+00:00 Jewel (NEW MODE) is part of Microsoft Solitaire & Casual Games and is installed and updated through Microsoft Store. If it hangs on the loading/clocking screen, use these steps:
- Confirm the game is properly installed
- Open Microsoft Store.
- Search for Microsoft Solitaire Collection (which includes Jewel 2 and other casual games).
- If an Install button is shown, select it to install. If Update is available, install the update.
- Launch from Microsoft Store
- From the Microsoft Solitaire Collection page in Microsoft Store, select Play instead of using an old shortcut. This ensures the latest version is launched.
- Pin and use a fresh shortcut
- With the game open, right-click (or press and hold) the game button on the taskbar and select Pin to task bar.
- Or, on the Start menu, scroll to Microsoft Solitaire Collection, right-click the tile, and select Pin to Start.
- Close the game and try launching again from the new pinned shortcut.
- Check graphics/DirectX if it still hangs
- If the game still only shows a spinning clock and never loads, the issue may be related to DirectDraw/Direct3D or the display driver.
- Install the latest DirectX End-User Runtimes from Microsoft.
- Update the video driver using Windows Update.
- If background programs (such as antivirus or utilities) might interfere, perform a clean startup and try launching the game again.
If the problem persists after these steps, collect any error messages or screenshots and contact Microsoft support with details of the device, Windows version, and steps tried.
