To sync Gmail with Outlook and see all Gmail folders (labels), configure Gmail for IMAP and then add the Gmail account in Outlook.
- Enable required folders in Gmail
- In a browser, go to Gmail.com and sign in.
- Select Settings (gear icon) > See all settings.
- Select the Labels tab.
- For these labels, make sure Show in IMAP is selected:
- Inbox
- Sent Mail
- Trash
- All Mail
- (Optionally) any other labels that should appear as folders in Outlook.
- Refresh Outlook so folders sync
- After enabling IMAP folders in Gmail, it can take up to 15 minutes for syncing to refresh.
- In Outlook for Windows (classic), wait for Send/Receive to complete; folders marked Show in IMAP will appear as folders under the Gmail account.
- If Gmail is not yet added in Outlook (classic)
- In Outlook, go to File > Add account.
- Enter the Gmail address, select Connect, and complete the sign‑in and consent steps.
- When the account finishes setup, Outlook will start syncing mail and all IMAP‑enabled folders.
If using Outlook on the web or Outlook.com connected to Gmail, after enabling Show in IMAP for the labels, refresh the browser page to trigger a sync.
