Product key for Windows 11 Pro

Did you purchase the full Pro license or the upgrade license?

IF it is upgrade license, make sure your HOme edition is currently activated.

Then do this. You can go to Settings > System > Activation > Change product key

Disconnect internet, and disable any third party antivirus, key in the generic key instead: VK7JG-NPHTM-C97JM-9MPGT-3V66T

That should get you to Pro. Once restarted, you can connect back to the internet, sign into your Microsoft account. See if it is activated.

The Windows 11 Pro purchase from Microsoft online gives a digital license and a product key that is provided in the confirmation email and in the order details, not directly in Windows.

To locate and use it:

1. Find the product key from the Microsoft purchase:
   • Go to the Microsoft account Order history.
   • Sign in with the same Microsoft account used to buy Windows 11 Pro.
   • Open the order for Windows 11 Pro; the 25‑character product key should be shown in the order details or confirmation information.
   • Alternatively, check the original confirmation email received when Windows 11 Pro was purchased; the key is included there.
2. Confirm Windows 11 Home is activated:
   • Select Start → Settings → System → Activation (or use the shortcut: ms-settings:activation).
   • Ensure the Activation state shows that Windows is activated. If not, activate Home first following Activate Windows.
3. Upgrade from Home to Pro using the key:
   • In Settings → System → Activation.
   • Next to Change product key, select Change.
   • If prompted by User Account Control, enter an administrator account and approve.
   • Enter the 25‑character Windows 11 Pro product key from the order/confirmation email.
   • Select Next to start the upgrade to Windows 11 Pro.

If the product key cannot be found in email or order details, support from the retailer (Microsoft Store support) is required, as Microsoft does not keep a separate record of product keys beyond what is exposed in the order history.

If you purchased full license (not upgrade) for Pro edition, and haven't received product key, kindly sign in with your Microsoft account, it should activate the device.
