    Hi,

It depends on the software included with the device. You can check in the Microsoft Store > Library > click on the Sort & Filter tab and uncheck the option "Show only installed products" if it's an appx file, and see if the software is there.

If it's desktop software, in that case, if it's not identifying it as installed, you'll need the files to reinstall the software.

It depends on the application; some work without installation.

Could you tell me the name of the application?

Now, if it is recognized as installed > access the Start menu > Settings > Apps > Installed apps, click on the ... > see if there's a "Modify/Change" option to start setup and have the repair option.

    Thanks

If a built‑in or preinstalled app was removed during a Windows repair, the way to get it back depends on how it was removed and what type of app it is.

    1. Try repairing or resetting the app (if it still appears)
    • Windows 11:
      1. Select Start > Settings > Apps > Installed apps.
      2. Find the app (if listed), select the More icon, then Advanced options.
      3. Select Repair. If that does not work or is not available, select Reset.
    • Windows 10:
      1. Select Start > Settings > Apps > Apps & features.
      2. Select the app, choose Advanced options.
      3. Select Repair, or Reset if Repair is not available or does not fix it.
    1. If it was a Microsoft Store app
    • First reset Microsoft Store:
      1. Press Windows key + R.
      2. Type wsreset.exe and select OK.
      3. A blank Command Prompt opens, closes after ~10 seconds, then Microsoft Store opens automatically.
    • Then open Microsoft Store and search for the app. If it shows up, reinstall it from there.
    • If the app does not appear in Store, it may have been:
      • Removed from the Store,
      • Not available in the current country/region,
      • Hidden by Microsoft family settings,
      • Incompatible with the current device.
    1. If it was removed by a policy (for example, OEM or organization image) If the device is managed (Intune, Group Policy, or similar) and the app was removed using the policy-based in-box app removal feature, simply unselecting it in the policy will not reinstall it. The steps are:
    2. Update the removal policy so the app is no longer marked for removal (Intune/CSP/GPO, depending on how the device is managed).
    3. Reinstall the app using one of these methods:
      • From Microsoft Store (if available there), or
      • From an ISO or OEM media that contains the in-box app, or
      • Via a management tool such as an Intune Win32 app or provisioning package that reprovisions the app.

If the app is OEM‑specific and not in Microsoft Store, contact the PC manufacturer or IT admin to obtain the original installation media or provisioning package so it can be reprovisioned.
