We have few applications built on Domino Server hosted on Windows Server 2012 R2 Standard OS. Due to few technical obligations our web applications run only on IE browser. Edge does not support it too. Hence we use Edge browser with IE Mode. There are future plans of migrating to a new environment so that dependency on IE would not be there, but that is a different story altogether.

As EOS date for Windows Server 2012 R2 Standard is approaching, we are in planning to upgrade to 2016 version or above.

So our question is whether Windows Server 2016 R2 Standard and above editions (2019, 2022) support Edge browser with IE Mode?

Please do shed some light on this.

    Hi @Dhruva1992,

So our question is whether Windows Server 2016 R2 Standard and above editions (2019, 2022) support Edge browser with IE Mode?

As mentioned in the official documentation: Microsoft is committed to supporting Internet Explorer mode in Microsoft Edge through at least 2029, on supported operating systems. And I tested IE mode in my Windows Server 2016 VM, it works fine as expected.

For more details, please refer to this doc: https://learn.microsoft.com/en-us/lifecycle/faq/internet-explorer-microsoft-edge
