If you are referring to the name that appears when you sign in with your Microsoft account, you can change that by the Your Info page of your Microsoft account. On the Full name line, click on Edit name, then type in the First name and Last name you wish to appear when you are signed in to Office.

In Word (and other Office apps), the name shown in comments, tracked changes, and document properties comes from the Office User name setting, not the Microsoft account name. Update it as follows:

    1. Open Word.
    2. Select File > Options.
    3. In the Word Options dialog, go to the General tab.
    4. Under Personalize your copy of Microsoft Office, change User name and Initials to the new name.
    5. (If available) Select Always use these values regardless of sign-in to Office so the new name is used even if signed in with a different account.
    6. Select OK.

This change applies to all Office apps on the computer and will be used for new documents, comments, and tracked changes. Existing documents will keep the old author name unless the Author property is edited per file:

    1. Open the document.
    2. Select File > Info.
    3. Under Related People, right-click the Author name and choose Edit Property.
    4. Enter the new name and save.
