Microsoft Money stopped working

Microsoft Money loads but does not respond at the logon screen. I know it is no longer supported but it has been working well in Windows 11 for years. The only change I am aware of is that I recently installed Andica Self Assessment Tax Software. I need to either get it working again or find a way to convert the .mny files to qif, csv etc

Thanks for everyone's help. I found that it would not even work after a reboot if I was too slow to open it. I had to get in quickly before my internet browser loaded. I have now managed to open it and have exported all the accounts into a format that is readable by other software. It is a pity but after this scare I am finally going to move away from Money having used it ever since it came out.

    Hello Jenny Winn,

Microsoft Money has been discontinued since 2009 isn't officially supported anymore, so troubleshooting compatibility issues on modern Windows can be tricky.

The recommended path in the Q&A community is Microsoft Money Plus Sunset Deluxe — a free version Microsoft released so existing users could still access their .mny files. In this thread, another advisor covers the full process including download, virus scan, and installation:

Also, after installing, it's worth to do this registry change: press Win + R, type regedit, and hit Enter. Navigate to HKLM\SOFTWARE\Wow6432Node\Microsoft\Internet Explorer, double-click the Version value on the right side, and change it to 9.11.10240.0.

Another option is to remove the password. It then skips the login screen when loading. You can then start Microsoft Money anytime without having to restart the pc each time

I have the same problem. I think it is from the recent windows update. Microsoft money still works sometimes after a reset.
