    Try this:

Open Device Manager, and make sure you've audio drivers installed and properly working.

If no audio driver is listed, you can visit your device manufacturer's website to download and install audio drivers for your system model.

If audio driver is present, you can try updating audio drivers to latest version.

Or if you've already updated them, try to roll back previous version to see if that works.

Also, run Playing Audio troubleshooter from Settings app > System > Troubleshoot > Other troubleshooters. Let us know what it reports back.

    Hi,

Go to Start menu > Settings > System > Sound > check if the sound output is set to Speakers or Realtek Audio.

Are you using a laptop or desktop?

    Thanks

Use these steps in Windows 11 to get sound working again:

    1. Check the output device
      1. Select the Speakers icon on the taskbar.
      2. Select the arrow to the right of the volume slider to open Select a sound output.
      3. Choose the device you actually want to use (for example, your PC speakers or headphones). If an external monitor without speakers is selected, there will be no sound.
    2. Check volume and mute for all devices/apps
      1. Right-click the Speakers icon on the taskbar.
      2. Select the arrow next to the volume slider, then select the settings icon (tool tip: More mixer settings).
      3. In Volume mixer, make sure:
        • The output device is not muted (no "x" next to the volume control).
        • App volumes (like the browser or music app) are not muted or set to 0.
        • If muted, either drag the volume slider up or select the Unmute speakers icon.
    3. Make sure the device is enabled
      1. Select Start > Settings > System > Sound.
      2. Under Advanced, select More sound settings.
      3. On the Playback tab, select your speakers/headphones and choose Properties.
      4. Next to Device usage, ensure Use this device (enable) is selected.
    4. Set the correct default device (if using USB/HDMI)
      1. Select Start > Settings > System > Sound.
      2. In the Output section, select the device you want to use. Selecting it also sets it as the default.
      3. If an external monitor without speakers is selected as default, switch to your speakers or headphones.
    5. Install updates (in case a driver/update is needed)
      1. Select Start > Settings > Windows Update.
      2. Select Check for updates.
      3. Install any available updates and restart the PC, then test sound again.

If there is still no sound after these steps, the issue may be with the audio driver or hardware and further driver troubleshooting may be required.
