In this scenario, the most likely causes are license validation or network/browser settings that block Copilot from working in the web app, even if general internet access is fine.

    Try these steps in order:

    1. Enable third‑party cookies in Firefox Copilot license validation in Microsoft 365 web apps requires third‑party cookies.
      1. In Firefox, open Settings.
      2. Go to Privacy & Security.
      3. Under Enhanced Tracking Protection, select Custom.
      4. Ensure Cookies is unchecked (i.e., not being blocked by the Custom setting).
      5. Close and reopen Firefox, then try Copilot again.
    2. Refresh the Copilot page After changing cookie settings, reload the page where Copilot runs (for example, the Microsoft 365 web app page) using the browser’s Refresh button and then try issuing a prompt again.
    3. Test in another browser Since the issue is on macOS with Firefox, test the same Copilot experience in another supported browser (for example, Microsoft Edge or Google Chrome) with third‑party cookies allowed, to confirm whether the problem is Firefox‑specific.
    4. Check for corporate firewall/proxy interference (if on a managed network) If using a corporate or school Mac/network, a firewall or proxy may be blocking the real‑time Copilot connections.
      1. Open Firefox developer tools (F12 or Cmd+Opt+I).
      2. Go to the Network tab.
      3. Start a new Copilot conversation or action.
      4. Look for a long‑lived /subscribe request associated with Copilot/agent testing.
      5. If the /subscribe request is missing, blocked, or stuck in Pending, the firewall/proxy is likely interfering. In that case, the network admin must add allow/bypass rules for the Copilot Studio required domains as described under Required services in the Copilot Studio requirements.

If Copilot still does not respond after these steps, contact the organization’s Microsoft 365 or network administrator to verify that Copilot and the necessary services are not being blocked by policies or security devices.
