    Hi John Davies,

    Does the problem go away after uninstalling the problem update?

    Regarding your information, it seems that your camera drivers are not compatible with the latest patch.

    Currently, there's no announcement about updating Windows could affect camera functional, however if your camera worked perfectly before the update, you may try uninstalling it following this article: How to uninstall a Windows Update.

    If your camera does work after uninstalling the problem update, please pause Windows Update and wait for the patch that fix the problem.

    If you have any updated information, please feel free to let me know.

    Follow these steps in order on the Windows 11 Lenovo Yoga Pro 9i:

    1. Test the camera in the built‑in Camera app
      1. Select Start > Camera.
      2. Check if the preview works.
      3. If the camera works here but not in other apps, the issue is with those apps’ settings.
    2. Check for Windows and driver updates
      1. Select Start > Settings > Windows Update > Check for updates.
      2. If available, select Advanced options > Optional updates and install any camera or system driver updates.
      3. Restart the PC: Start > Power > Restart (do not just wake from sleep).
      4. Test again with the Camera app.
    3. Run the Camera troubleshooter
      1. Select Start > Settings > System.
      2. Select Troubleshoot > Other troubleshooters.
      3. Find Camera and select Run.
      4. Apply any fixes it suggests and restart if prompted.
    4. Check antivirus or security software
      1. Open the antivirus/security suite installed on the device.
      2. Look for any webcam/camera protection or privacy blocking features.
      3. Temporarily disable those protections and test the Camera app again.
    5. If the camera shows black screen or no video
      1. Open Start > Device Manager.
      2. Expand Cameras and locate the Yoga’s camera.
      3. Right‑click it > Update driver > Search automatically for drivers.
      4. After update completes, restart the PC and test again.

    If the camera still does not switch on after these steps, test whether it works in any app at all (Camera app, Teams, etc.). If it fails everywhere even after driver and Windows updates, this may indicate a Lenovo‑specific driver/firmware issue and the next step is to install the latest camera drivers from Lenovo’s support site for the Yoga Pro 9i.

    Hi. I'm David, and I'm happy to help you.

    Please check what message is displayed in the camera's Device Status in Device Manager.

    1. Press "Windows + X" and select "Device Manager";
    2. Click on the "View" menu and select "Show hidden devices";
    3. Expand "Cameras";

    (If this category is not displayed, let me know.)

    1. If the camera is listed, right-click and select "Properties". Check if there is an error in "Device Status".

    If you prefer, share a screenshot. Use the shortcut "Windows + Shift + S" to use the screenshot tool.

    Also, share a screenshot of your system information.

    (The Yoga Pro 9i has multiple variants. I need to know which exact variant your laptop is.)

    • Press "Windows + R", type msinfo32 and press Enter.

    Maximize the window and use the screenshot tool.

    Looking forward to your reply.
