For Microsoft gift cards and Microsoft 365/Office product keys, the code used for redemption is 25 characters, so the 16-digit number is often just the card number, serial number, or another identifier printed on the card or receipt rather than the actual redeem code. Please check the back of the card, the scratch-off area, the full purchase receipt, or the email if it was bought digitally, because the redeemable code should be the 25-character one.

If there is truly no 25-character code anywhere, then it is possible the wrong type of card was purchased. Please contact the retailer.
