    Hi,

If you are on a Microsoft 365 Classic subscription or a standalone software like Office 2021, Copilot might not appear. Copilot might also not appear if you have a Microsoft 365 Business subscription, as it requires a separate Copilot license.

Once you select a New Email, you should see Copilot in 365:

Copilot in Outlook is available only when the Outlook account is associated with an eligible Copilot-enabled Microsoft 365 subscription and the feature is exposed in the app.

To enable and access Copilot in Outlook with a Microsoft 365 subscription, use these steps:

    1. Confirm the correct subscription and account
      • For home use, the signed-in account in Outlook must have one of these:
        • Microsoft 365 Personal
        • Microsoft 365 Family
        • Copilot Pro
      • Make sure Outlook is signed in with that licensed Microsoft account (the primary account in the app).
      • If using a non-Microsoft email (Gmail, Yahoo, iCloud) in the new Outlook, link it to the Microsoft account that has the Microsoft 365 subscription so premium features (including Copilot) are available:
        1. In the new Outlook, go to View tab > View settings, or File tab > Account info.
        2. Select Accounts > Your accounts.
        3. Choose the account and select Manage.
        4. Select Link Accounts (only appears if there is a Microsoft 365 subscription with the same email identity).
    2. Make sure Copilot is available in the Microsoft 365 apps
      • Copilot is available in the Home tab of Outlook on the web for Copilot subscribers.
      • If the same Microsoft 365 subscription includes desktop apps, Copilot should also appear in those apps when the account is correctly licensed and signed in.
    3. Refresh the license (if Copilot is missing)
      • On Windows desktop apps:
        1. Open any Microsoft 365 app (for example, Word or Outlook).
        2. Go to File > Account.
        3. Select Update License.
        4. Close and restart all Microsoft 365 apps so the license refresh takes effect.
    4. Use Copilot features in Outlook Once the account and license are correct and Copilot is available, Copilot appears in Outlook as:
      • Summary by Copilot via the Summarize button at the top of each message thread.
      • Draft with Copilot and Coaching by Copilot from the Copilot button on the ribbon when composing a message.
      • Schedule with Copilot on the ribbon when creating a meeting invitation from an email thread.
      • Chat with Copilot from the Copilot icon in the navigation header (for businesses with a Microsoft 365 Copilot subscription).
      • Themes by Copilot in Appearance Settings.
      • Prepare for your meeting from a meeting’s calendar item.

If Copilot still does not appear after confirming the subscription, sign-in account, and license refresh, follow the “How to find and enable missing Copilot button in Microsoft 365 apps” steps for further checks.

    Hi,

The least implementation of Copilot is in Outlook 365. Microsoft recommends Outlook New for that. Could you switch from the top right and verify that, please?

A friendly reminder that this is a user-user support forums so Engineering decisions are out of scope this side :)
