Microsoft “freebies” related to Bing and Microsoft Rewards are earned through the Microsoft Rewards program.
To get them:
- Create or use a Microsoft account
- A Microsoft account is required. If needed, sign up for a free account at the link in the Rewards article.
- Join Microsoft Rewards
- Go to the Rewards page (for example, from the Microsoft account dashboard) and sign in.
- Microsoft Rewards has no fees or commitment; it is included with the Microsoft account.
- Earn points with everyday activities
- Search with Bing (where supported).
- Shop for eligible items in the Microsoft Store (including on Xbox, where supported).
- Play and complete activities or offers shown on the Rewards dashboard.
- Track progress and choose rewards
- Open the Rewards dashboard to see current points and available “freebies,” such as:
- Gift cards
- Sweepstakes entries
- Donations to charity
- Redeem points for gift cards or other rewards
- When enough points are collected, redeem them for the desired reward.
- To get a gift card code already redeemed:
- Go to Rewards Order History.
- Find the specific reward and select Order Details to see the code or link, or Resend to receive the confirmation email again.
- If redemption is blocked
- Make sure a VoIP phone number or VPN is not being used, the verification code is entered correctly, and the maximum number of uses for a single phone number has not been exceeded.

On Xbox specifically, Microsoft Rewards points can also be earned by:
- Shopping for games and eligible items in the Microsoft Store on Xbox.
- Gaming on Xbox and completing Rewards activities.
Rewards on Xbox are currently available only in: Australia, Belgium, Brazil, Canada, France, Germany, Hong Kong, Ireland, Italy, Japan, Mexico, the Netherlands, New Zealand, Norway, Singapore, Spain, Sweden, Taiwan, the United Kingdom, and the United States.
